Job Description:

Maintenance and repair of buildings and structures, such as volleyball courts, trails system, challenge courses, climbing wall, waterfront structures, pavilions, storage sheds/workshops, boathouses, docks, picnic tables, and trash cans; provide carpentry, pressure washing, staining, painting, plumbing, electrical, and grounds works such as removing downed trees, mowing, and tractor operation.

Operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery, such as gas-powered off-road utility vehicles, electric golf cart, out-board motorboats, pressure washers, fleet of rental boats and mountain bikes, generators, air compressors, high lift, and a diversity of grounds equipment; provide small engine repair, follow manufacturer guidelines, determine when outsourcing is necessary; operate large vehicles, tractors, mowers, power tools and other specialized maintenance equipment.

Coordinate, train, supervise, and coach student employees to assist with maintenance projects; maintain positive working relationships and coordinate with Facility Services and the RecSports maintenance team as necessary to complete large-scale projects; submit work orders through Facility Services Management Center. Work with outside vendors when necessary.

Assist with area administrative tasks such as upkeep of the maintenance plan and service records, repair and replacement plans, create and update standard operating procedures, maintain inventory records, and provide leadership on the solicitation and purchasing of supplies and equipment; follow technical guidelines and manufacturer recommendations; follow and uphold UF Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) guidelines, including disposal of hazardous materials.

Expected Salary:

$39,000 - $42,000

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Electrical, mechanical, carpenter and plumbing experience preferred; comfort working at heights; ability to work with minimal supervision, to think laterally and to undertake initiatives; ability to effectively supervise; self-motivated, adaptable, a great team player and customer focused
