The Opportunity:

The Aircraft Parts Manager s upervises the overall operation of the Aircraft Parts section in support of the Fleet Aircraft Maintenance Center, Powerplant, and Avionics repair stations. Responsibilities include maintaining a working inventory, ordering all parts required to overhaul and repair fleet aircraft, aircraft engines, accessories, and avionics, as well as tracking all serial number accessories and components that are in inventory for a positive control.

Job Duties:

Provide support for the operation of the Fleet Aircraft Maintenance Center and the Powerplant and Repair Stations to interface with Fleet Aircraft Maintenance to meet the daily flying schedule. Manage all daily parts operations, transactions, and the ordering of inventory while ensuring that all Federal Aviation Regulations and Standards are met. Manage all accounts, lines of credit, and consignment inventory setup with numerous parts vendors, distributors manufacturers, and repair stations required to support ERAU repair stations so as to meet the needs of the Daytona Beach Flight Department. Provide a high level of customer satisfaction and maintain a department image appropriate to ERAU as the leader in Aviation Education.

Coordinate the purchasing and reordering of all documents, forms, books, and manuals required by the repair station to meet FAA standards.

Provide pickup, packaging, shipping, receiving, and delivery services in support of the Repair Stations. Maintain proper stock levels of consumable items such as hardware, lubricants, paints, etc used to support repair station maintenance activities. Coordinate with the repair stations and personnel to maintain proper stock levels and to ensure the security of parts and inventory.

Establish and maintain administrative procedures within the parts section to provide accurate data for the accounting of all inventory and expenditures, while ensuring all purchases are billed to the proper accounts. Ensure that all warranty claims are processed through applicable agencies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

  • Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

    Basic PC Software Skills (e.g. spreadsheet, word processing & database etc.) Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications preferred. Supervisory and people skills required.

  • Required licenses, certificates, and /or security clearances:

    Airframe & Powerplant License required.

    Thorough working knowledge of FAR 145, 91 and 43 required.

    Ability to obtain a Repair Station Inspectors (I) Designation. (ERAU Designation)

    Working knowledge of aircraft, avionics and simulation maintenance.

    Current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.

    Private pilot certificate desired.
