Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for multiple nine-month, tenure track Assistant, Associate or Professor faculty positions of:

  • Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology
  • Mathematics
  • Molecular and Cellular Biology
  • Physics

 

We are seeking to recruit a diverse cohort of scientists studying important problems with biomedical relevance.  These positions are available for candidates with research programs in microorganism or parasite chemical biology, infection, or drug discovery and will begin August 2022.

Successful candidates are expected to establish an extramurally funded research program in microorganism or parasite chemical biology, infection, or drug discovery.  Research programs will seek to understand microorganisms or parasites using functional, phenotypic, chemical, genetic, and structure-based methods to identify infection pathways or lead to drug treatments.

Teaching responsibilities (undergraduate and graduate) will be in one of five departments (Chemistry and Biochemistry; Molecular and Cellular Biology; Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology; Physics; or Mathematics). Candidates who are interested in adopting principles of active, and inclusive learning are especially welcome.

 

Professional service, and support for inclusive excellence in science and mathematics is expected.

 

Required Qualifications Include

  • An earned doctorate, or its foreign equivalent, in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics or a closely related discipline
  • Post-doctoral research experience
  • A record of peer-reviewed publications (or accepted manuscripts)
  • An applicant at the Associate Professor (or higher) level must have a record of extramural funding.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Success in obtaining federal funding.
  • A record of using evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices at the university level.
