Job/Department Summary:

Under general supervision of the Director of Business Operations, the Manager of Budget & Finance serves as a member of the FMS leadership team, sharing responsibilities for the day-to-day operations within the FMS department. The incumbent serves as a strategic contact for the Director of Business Operations and is an active member in the overall operations of FMS by managing a wide variety of financial functions within FMS and University Housing, including but not limited to: accounting, budget, payroll, procurement & contracts. Incumbent represents FMS in a professional and responsible manner on various University committees and in various meetings. In conjunction with the Director of Business Operations, the incumbent oversees the operating budget for the Administrative unit as well as oversight of all unit budgets within the department.

  • Bilingual
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Budget, finance, and/or accounting experience in a large organization.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a diverse environment.
  • Post High school education.
Required Education and Experience:

Requires the equivalent to a four-year college degree in business administration and two years' experience in facilities management and/or construction trades.
-OR-
Six years' increasingly responsible experience in an administrative area of facilities management and two years experience directly supervising staff.

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary commensurate with background and experience of the individual selected. (Anticipated hiring salary not to exceed: $63,000 per year).

This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).

The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, this is a “designated position” under the California State University’s Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission. (Designated Group & Category: Facilities Management and Services - Director (all levels) CAT 02)

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Throughout employment in this position incumbent must maintain a valid California Driver's License as well as continued completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Driver's Training course.
