Job/Department Summary:

Under general supervision of the Director of Business Operations, the Manager of Customer Support serves as a member of the FMS leadership team, sharing responsibilities for the day-to-day operations within the FMS department. The incumbent serves as a strategic contact for the Director of Business Operations and is an active member in the overall operations of FMS by managing a wide variety of Administrative functions within FMS and University Housing, including but not limited to: Management Assistance; Event Support (including administrative maintenance of Ad Astra scheduling software); Bus Reservations administration; Website development & maintenance; Work Order Control; Energy Support; Creation/update of Administrative procedures/processes; supervision of Administrative Students; and is the departments Information Technology liaison (full utilization of TMA, financial reporting, report creation for improved management decision-making, desktop support, etc.). Incumbent serves as liaison to the campus community to effectively and properly coordinate facilities services, so that the highest possible level of customer satisfaction is maintained. Incumbent represents FMS in a professional and responsible manner on various University committees and in various meetings.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
  • Bilingual
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Budget, finance, and/or accounting experience in a large organization.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a diverse environment.
  • Post High school education.
Required Education and Experience:

Requirements include the equivalent to a four-year college degree in business administration and two years experience in facilities management and/or construction trades.
OR
Six years of experience in an increasingly responsible role in the administrative area of facilities management and
two years experience directly supervising staff.

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary commensurate with background and experience of the individual selected. (Anticipated hiring range not to exceed: $55,000 per year.)

The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, this is a “designated position” under the California State University’s Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission. (Group/Category: Assoc or Asst Director/Supervisor / Project Manager - 2)

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Throughout employment in this position incumbent must maintain a valid California Driver's License as well as continued completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Driver's Training course.
