Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President, the Senior Director of Facility Operations is responsible for leadership and management of campus physical plant operations and maintenance. The Senior Director is responsible for management of personnel and equipment resources in order to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained campus environment. Works closely with leadership within Administration and Business Affairs to develop facility management goals and objectives supporting the University's educational mission.

FLSA: Exempt

CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,250 - $18,750 per month

Hiring Range: $6,250 - $12,083 per month

Recruitment Type: Regular (at-will)

Time Base: Full-Time 1.0

Pay Plan: 12 months

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. Other hours as required.

Department Information

Facilities Management is the steward for the University buildings, infrastructure, grounds and landscape.

We perform maintenance and renovation to facilities, plan and manage new building construction and support the Redefine the Possible initiative through our commitment to building a welcoming campus and by creating a dynamic physical environment for students, faculty, staff, and the community.

Required Qualifications
1. Five years of progressively responsible experience overseeing physical plant operations, construction, and maintenance in a collective bargaining environment. 2. Bachelor's degree or any combination of education and experience that would allow the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions. 3. Experience overseeing and/or developing budgets for operational needs. 4. Strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills, with experience in providing leadership and supervision to staff and management positions. 5. Thorough knowledge of applicable safety regulations. 6. Strong computer skills and familiar with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. 7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and develop projects. 8. Experience managing people in one or more areas of physical plant operations, construction, and/or maintenance. 9. Possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a good driving record. Preferred Qualifications 10. Five years of progressively responsible experience with energy conservation and sustainable operational and building practices. 11. Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Management or a closely related field. 12. Working knowledge of computerized systems common to physical plant operations such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
13. Professional Engineering License
14. Knowledge of Cal-OSHA, Injury Illness Prevention Programs, and codes applicable to the construction, alteration, and modification of physical plant assets
Required Licenses/Certifications

Valid Driver's license and maintenance of good driving record.
