Job Summary
This position, under general supervision, performs general steamfitter work at the journey worker level. It has the responsibility to maintain and repair heating, venting and air conditioning systems. This position also installs new systems in accordance with plans and specifications. Performs all duties in a professional manner, with an emphasis on customer service and serves as a model representative of the Department of Facility Services, and the Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Evidence of advanced skills in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds
  • Evidence of the ability to Weld, braise and solder


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting experience in the HVAC field in a university or a commercial setting
  • Evidence of strong customer service skills
  • Evidence of experience installing and/or modifying direct digital control sequence of operation programs
  • Welding certifications
  • Completion of OSHA 10 or higher
  • Experience in the repair of Pressure Reducing Valves
