We are seeking an Institutional Research Analyst to work remotely on a full-time 37.5-hour per week basis. 

 

Summary

The Institutional Research Analyst (IR Analyst) is responsible for providing institutional research to support reaccreditation, program reviews, and inform administrative decision making. The IR Analyst prepares and produces a variety of queries and reports to meet external reporting requirements, federal reporting (e.g., IPEDS, Gainful Employment), accrediting agencies (e.g., APA and WASC), and internal institutional research needs. The IR Analyst maintains competency in the technical capabilities to extract data and create reports in Informer and Qualtrics. The analyst administers and analyzes survey data in Qualtrics. The IR analyst transforms, analyzes, and creates data visualizations in Excel, SPSS, and Tableau. This position is responsible for preparing reports to inform administration and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data used for reporting, planning, and institutional effectiveness activities. The IR analyst possesses strong problem solving and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; the ability to work in a fast-paced and team environment. Work collaboratively with other offices across the university; and to manage multiple projects at any given time with time-sensitive deadlines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have a BA/BS with knowledge of institutional data use for tracking, problem solving, and process improvement. Minimum two years’ experience in data extraction and analysis. Minimum one year experience in survey creation and analysis, Qualtrics preferred; and in visual display of data, Tableau preferred. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: (Level of knowledge, measurable skills and talents)

1.  Excellent attention to details (i.e., data entry, data integrity, reviewing reports)

2.  In-depth knowledge of Qualtrics and Colleague to perform research and write complex queries to extract data in Informer.

3.  Knowledge of query language. Strong knowledge of student database in Colleague.

4.  Advanced knowledge of Excel for manipulating, analyzing, and representing data.

5.  Ability to transform data (e.g., code and clean data) and perform statistical analyses in SPSS (e.g., chisquare, Ttest), and knowledge of simple regression. 

6.  Ability to work independently and within a team. 

7.  Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau, Power BI). 

7.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Adobe, and PowerPoint. 

9.  Knowledge of data security and ethics associated with FERPA regulations.
