The Department of Event Services is seeking candidates for an Event Concierge. The Event Concierge will assist with management of campus events as needed. The Event Concierge communicates with clients upon their arrival to the venue, ensuring that the venue is set up appropriately, and monitors the event to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Some supervision of student staff is necessary, as well as troubleshooting any issues that might arise. This is a Part-time, temporary position.

  • Provide excellent customer service at all levels
  • Work with other department heads and staff
  • Lead a staff of two or more people during a shift
  • Delegate work to staff and prepare a timeline toward completion
  • Ensure the work environment is safe and secure
  • Understand event setup and requirements for each event
  • Do final checks of events to insure all is ready such as tables and technology, etc.
  • Oversee event and quickly resolve problems
  • 1-3 years of event experience working with events is required
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Ability to work individually or on a team
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve service
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities to achieve during an event and have strong time management
  • Ability to multi-task while performing various job duties
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
