The School of Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Associate Dean. The Associate Dean holds the responsibility for all advising, assessment, curriculum and instruction, academic catalog, communication, scheduling and enrollment management, student forms and petitions, student data and other services. The Associate Dean is also responsible for coordinating program development and revision of degree programs with the School of Health Sciences. Further information regarding the position responsibilities is listed below. In addition to the academic success, the Associate Dean
will coordinate and oversee the promotion and tenure process in the School of Health Sciences, develop and coordinate faculty professional development and lead strategic initiatives and projects supporting faculty excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in an allied heath profession or related field tenured or eligible for tenure, PhD preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities within program, University, State and/or National organizations
- Demonstrated ability working with promotion and tenure process
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to contribute in the areas of outreach and service to the department, school, university, profession, and community
- Demonstrated ability working with graduate and undergraduate academic and curriculum processes within a regental institution
- Demonstrated ability working with accreditation
- Demonstrated ability working with faculty governance committees
- Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to contribute to the School of Health sciences research and scholarship mission, as well as the interprofessional health education mission
- Demonstrated ability to develop and evaluate strategies to advance faculty development and leadership training
- Demonstrated experience working with the Board of Regents policies and processes
Required Experience
- Has a minimum of three years of administrative experience in higher education, working with both graduate and undergraduate students
- Has a minimum of five years experience in higher education, including serving in a faculty role
