Summary/Objective
The STEM Grants and Partnerships Manager supports externally-funded STEM research and education across the College of Arts and Sciences with specific focus on STEM outreach, partnerships and community engagement and externally funded activities of the Initiative for STEM Education, Equity and Ethics; the AU Center for Data Science; the Integrated Space Science and Technology Institute; and the NASA DC Space Grant Consortium. The position provides administrative support for externally funded projects, including coordinating the grants, budget and HR personnel in CAS and AU; collecting data necessary for reporting and accounting; communicating to stakeholders in funded projects. Throughout all activities, this position supports the goal of broadening participation by underrepresented groups in STEM.
Essential Functions
- Finance and Budget Coordination - Process and track all associated grant and internally funded transactions including participant payments, travel expense reports, invoices, reimbursements for funded projects in collaboration with grant PIs, CAS Grants team and Budget team, and other offices as necessary; track grant expenditures and produce reports for PIs as necessary; assist with drafting budgets for grant proposals, and pre-award and post-award administration
- Personnel – Submit HR requests for grant-funded projects with grant PI, CAS Grants team, and CAS Budget team, and other offices as necessary; compile and submit non-AU grant participant paperwork; ensure completeness and accuracy of timesheets for T&E forms, including student workers
- Communication and Marketing – Update project websites on a regular basis in consultation with the Director; maintain communication with project participants and grant collaborations; assist with advertising and reporting for events and programs
- Data Collection and Reporting – Collect and store documents and information relevant to funded projects; compile data for reporting and assessment
- Event Support – Carry out all logistics for events and projects; assist with on-campus events; manage all travel for visitors as well as process reimbursement requests as required
- Other grant support as assigned, including supporting grant proposal process internally; supporting data collections and reporting for grant reports
