The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology is recruiting a full-time faculty member for an appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank (without tenure due to funding) with an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The successful applicant would be expected to conduct a nationally-recognized research program in hematopoiesis, stem cell biology, leukemogenesis or other areas that complement the activities of the University of Washington or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center investigators. Teaching duties will include lab-based mentorship of students and fellows, Hematology Grand Rounds and other conferences, and classroom-based teaching. For candidates with an MD, this may also include clinical attending. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Position will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2022.
The selected candidate must have an MD or DO, or a PhD in a relevant field, or foreign equivalent. If candidate has an MD, board certification in Hematology or Medical Oncology (or foreign equivalent) will also be required, and in order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
