Louisiana State University seeks qualified applicants
for an Assistant Professor of Professional in Social Work. This
full time, 12-month nontenure track position is effective March
2022. Responsibilities include teaching in the BSW program, and
service to the University, College, School, and profession. Salary
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Background check

Minimum Qualifications: MSW degree
and LCSW credential if candidate does not hold the PhD or DSW
degree in social work
Preferred Qualifications: PhD or DSW (will also consider ABD near completion of degree); experience working with undergraduate students; minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the college/university level; LCSW; ability to engage diverse constituencies
Proposed Salary: commensurate with prior experience. The LSU School of Social Work offers the BSW, MSW, PhD, LGBTQ Studies Minor, BS and MS in Child and Family Studies degrees and was approved by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) in 2020 to offer the BSW program. The School houses active research programs in diverse areas such as child welfare (including Title IV-E Child Welfare Program), criminal justice, LGBTQ issues, gerontology, poverty, and substance use disorders. The School’s administrative home is in the College of Human Sciences and Education. The College’s Office of Social Service Research and Development works to develop external funding opportunities for faculty and graduate students and supports their efforts to produce scholarly publications.
