Job Description:

The University of Florida, Department of Medicine invites applications within the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension, and Renal Transplantation from board certified/board eligible nephrologists who wish to join a thriving quaternary academic center at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor. Requisite attributes for the successful candidate include a commitment to service, a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to train tomorrow’s physicians.

The Nephrology Division is active in all academic missions with a variety of strong research, educational, and clinical activities. In addition to offering career development opportunities, the Division boasts of a multitude of nephrology subspecialty clinics, in-center and home dialysis, and state-of-the-art CRRT program. The clinical duties will include providing nephrologic care in the inpatient setting as well as outpatient clinics. If desired, affiliation with VA medical center can be granted.

The Department of Medicine is a national leader in multiple subspecialty areas. UF Health is one of the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health centers and includes UF Health Shands, a 1000-bed quaternary referral hospital which ranks among the top 50-hospitals in the US News & World Report Survey in 7 adult specialties. The University of Florida Health Science Center has a unique constellation of six health colleges and nine-centers and institutes all located on a single campus. The University of Florida is a Top 5 public research university and includes substantial resources to support teaching, research, and collaboration.

The Gainesville, Florida region has an inexpensive cost of living, nationally ranked public middle and high schools, and superb weather with multiple year-round recreational opportunities including biking, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and cave diving. Pristine wilderness areas, coastal communities, famous theme parks, and other attractions are within a short driving distance. Gainesville Regional Airport provides non-stop service to three major international air travel hubs.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable, commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

M.D. degree or equivalent, Board certified/Board eligible, and eligible for a Florida Medical License.
