We are currently seeking to fill our Open Rank Faculty - Psychology position at the Philadelphia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.

Position Description

The School of Professional and Applied Psychology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is seeking a Pennsylvania-licensed or license-eligible doctoral level clinical psychologist with a cognitive-behavioral orientation for a full-time (12 month) tenure track position. Faculty rank is open and will be commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Teaching in the APA-Accredited Psy.D. Program in Clinical Psychology, including possible courses in research methods and design, dissertation seminar, practicum, history and systems of psychology, substance use, trauma-informed CBT, cognitive and behavioral therapies, and others.
  • Mentoring dissertations, clinical supervision, advising students, developing a research program with students, and participating in the admissions/interview process.
  • Scholarly activity in areas of specialty.
  • Participation in program, school, and university committee work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-Accredited Program, emphasis in cognitive-behavioral training, and a planned program of scholarly activity are required.
  • Candidate must have a thorough understanding and commitment to teaching students being trained in a practitioner-scholar model.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with specialized expertise in substance use and strong consideration will be given to individuals with expertise in forensic psychology, severe and persistent mental illness, and/or trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated successful teaching and mentoring experience in a doctoral level graduate program.
