Job Summary
The individual selected for this position will report to the Department Head and the head of the Experimental Economics Laboratory to assist with planning, managing, and conducting experiments, data collection, and documentation. He/she will serve as the key contact for the laboratory within and outside the University and will manage and help execute sponsored program projects, ensure timely execution of deliverables, and plan for and manage a range of lab events and activities such as conferences, workshops, and seminars. This is a two year limited term position and is funded from external sources. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develop or assist in the development of complex project proposals, plans, and protocols
• Train students on conducting experiments, filing IRB applications, documenting the data collection process, ensuring compliance to lab protocols
• Coordinating and delegating duties to research teams
• Assessing the lab activities, creating reports, and making recommendations for changes needed or future projects/experiments/activities
• Working with external stakeholders to raise resources for the lab, including grant writing, and project development
• Documenting lab activities and communicating activities with internal and external audiences
• Working with communications teams to create web and social media presence

Research Associate II: Requires a master’s degree in Economics/Agricultural Economics or related field and two years of experience in research practices and protocols relevant to the position.

• Prior experience in designing and conducting experiments
• Strong written and communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain partnerships within and outside the University
• Ability to lead and provide oversight to staff, students, and postdocs

• Ability to work independently, handle responsibilities in a timely manner with very little direction or supervision, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills
Minimum Technology Skills
• Knowledge and proficiency in computer systems, Qualtrics, and Microsoft Office software
Minimum License and Certifications
Desired Qualifications
• Knowledge of project management, marketing, market demand analysis, financial management, reporting, and analytics
• Prior experience in food and agricultural industries
• Programming skills in STATA /Python/R
