We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, plan, execute and report various emerging media and user-generated content strategies for social media outlets.
Provide story ideas and writing for online newsletters and community magazines.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop content (text and graphics) for posting on all
designated social
media sites. - Develop and manage viral marketing campaigns. Plan social media calendar and execute daily posts/tweets in all social media outlets.
- Manage existing social media presence on Collin College social media.
- Manage online discussion. Monitor all outlets by listening to users and responding in a timely manner to users’ needs and questions. Monitor chatter and other relevant online data
- Monitor and report online sentiment for crisis management response.
- Cover campus events and promote, report and/or inform via social media using photos, video, twitterview, images and/or interviews.
- Track social media influence measurements. Analyze social media trends and prepare reports (example: usage statistics).
- Research emerging platforms and trends and make recommendations for use.
- Employ the college’s social media guidelines. Inform and train employees on the use of these guidelines and assist college communicators on social media best practices.
- Develop relationships with faculty and staff and enterprise story ideas. Write articles (feature, news, editorial stories) and press releases.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with College policies, procedures, and core values.
- Knowledge of social media networking platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, You Tube, Flickr, Instagram Snap Chat, TikTok, blogs, wikis and emerging social media platforms
- Knowledge of social media space and best practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of different programs, events, and organizations within the college
- Knowledge of iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and Photoshop
- Knowledge of graphic creation
- Knowledge of digital photography and/or photojournalism
- Media production skills
- Creative writing skills
- Traditional writing skills
- Customer service skills
- Editing, proofreading, spelling and grammar skills
- Ability to write proficiently using AP Style
- Ability to use “social networking speak” and online jargon
- Ability to follow emerging media trends
- Ability to use digital video camera (or equivalent) in filming and editing
- Ability to create social media graphics
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution required.
Three (3) years of professional experience working with primary responsibility for social and/or digital media.
