The Director of Clinical Practice or Academic Fieldwork Coordinator ( AFWC ) is responsible for the developing, planning and monitoring of all occupational therapy student fieldwork experiences and for teaching up to 6.0 credits of fieldwork related materials within the full-time, 12 months contract period. The fieldwork office is anchored in the sequence and scope of content in the curriculum design and in collaboration with faculty it facilitates the connection between propositional and practice knowledge strengthening the ties of clinical practice. The AFWC reports to the department Chair and is responsible for coordinating fieldwork experiences that will prepare reflective, compassionate, creative, and competent occupational therapy professional for both traditional and emerging practice settings. Required Qualifications:
· A doctoral degree in occupational therapy or related major awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE -recognized regional accrediting body.
· Must be initially certified by NBCOT and be eligible for OT Licensure in New Jersey.
· A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including responsibilities supervising fieldwork students.
· Prior experience as fieldwork coordinator is preferred.
· Management or leadership position experience
· Capacity in using computer technology systems current in higher education.
· Skill in planning and implementing projects with vision, creativity, energy, and collegiality.
· Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in working with diverse constituencies inside and outside the campus community.
· Ability to understand and implement institutional, accrediting, state, and federal standards, laws, and/or regulations for higher education.
· Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.

• ‪Development and management of the fieldwork office to support the OTD and PPOT programs in accord with the needs of the fieldwork program and the vision, strategic plan, and goals of the department and university.
• Document the criteria and process for selecting fieldwork sites according to departmental expectations and Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education requirements
• Secure new clinical sites and initiate contracts accordingly.
• Maintain evidence of contracts and signatures at the time the student is completing the Level I or Level II fieldwork experience.
• Advocate for the development of connections between the fieldwork and didactic aspects of the curriculum and for communicating about the curriculum to fieldwork educators.
• Act as liaison between the faculty, students, clinical sites, and fieldwork educators.
• Ensure the ratio of fieldwork educators to student(s) enables proper supervision and the ability to provide frequent assessment of student progress in achieving stated fieldwork objectives.
• Ensure the fieldwork experience is designed to promote clinical reasoning and reflective practice, to transmit the values and beliefs that enable ethical practice, and to develop professionalism and competence in career responsibilities.
• Document all fieldwork experiences that are provided to students, including mechanisms for formal evaluation of student performance.
• Responsible to teach Fieldwork progression materials in keeping with position title of Clinical Instructor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator.
• Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapy literature, New Jersey State licensure, reimbursement, Medicare changes, health care policies, and ACOTE requirements related to fieldwork compliance.
