The Director of Clinical Practice or Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) is responsible for the developing, planning and monitoring of all occupational therapy student fieldwork experiences and for teaching up to 6.0 credits of fieldwork related materials within the full-time, 12 months contract period. The fieldwork office is anchored in the sequence and scope of content in the curriculum design and in collaboration with faculty it facilitates the connection between propositional and practice knowledge strengthening the ties of clinical practice. The AFWC reports to the department Chair and is responsible for coordinating fieldwork experiences that will prepare reflective, compassionate, creative, and competent occupational therapy professional for both traditional and emerging practice settings.
