Job Description

UMKC’s School of Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Education Program Coordinator to provide administrative support for the Office of Medical Education at the Regional Campus located in St. Joseph, MO.

The ideal candidate for this position will be highly organized and able to communicate in a professional and welcoming manner with students, staff, faculty, and outside healthcare providers.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate all pre-clinical courses for students on the St. Joseph campus, including: Develop and maintain faculty communications, lectures and small group activities; Contacting other units and departments involved with the course; Send updates and reminders to students in the course; track student assignments; Monitor student participation in small group sessions; Schedule student appointments
• Coordinate all clinical clerkships for students on the St. Joseph campus, including but not limited to: Develop and maintain faculty communications, lectures and small group activities; Contacting other units and departments involved with the course; Send updates and reminders to students in the course; track student assignments; Monitor student participation in small group sessions; Schedule student appointments
• Coordinate with the Northwest Missouri Area Health Education Center office and the Electives Coordinator at the School of Medicine to schedule and facilitate elective experiences in Northwest Missouri for students from both campus locations
• Disseminate curriculum updates to students and faculty at the St. Joseph campus
• Reserve and support classroom needs for courses and clerkships, including set-up of classroom space and proctoring of exams
• Assist in compilation and reporting of assessments to UMKC School of Medicine Office of Assessment and Quality Improvement (OAQI) and prepare course related reports
• Maintain course and clerkship websites on canvas
• Act as communication liaison between the Curriculum Office and others.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of previous coordination experience preferred. Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong professional writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to work and maintain progress on multiple projects

Full Time/Part Time

Full time, M-F 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Salary

$62,000/annum
