Suffolk University is pleased to announce a career opportunity Social Media Marketing Specialist! Our Bodies Ourselves Today (OBOS Today) seeks a creative and dynamic individual to serve as our Social Media Marketing Specialist. The person who fills this ongoing, part-time position will move us from our current modest social media presence to having a robust social media arm that reaches wide and diverse audiences.

Our Bodies Ourselves Today

OBOS Today is building a world-class online platform to provide the most up-to-date, trustworthy, and inclusive information about health and sexuality for women, girls, and gender-expansive people. Based at Suffolk University in Boston, Our Bodies Ourselves Today is realizing an ambitious vision to expand and extend the galvanizing knowledge of the bible of womens health, Our Bodies, Ourselves.

In different subject areas, experts will curate the most current evidence-based information, along with content-specific personal narratives, all in an intersectional feminist context. We are committed to addressing the needs and voicing the perspectives of women, girls, and gender-expansive people across race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, age, ability, nationality, legal and immigration status, gender, belief, and all other distinctions.

OBOS Today will launch in the Spring 2022 focusing on eight subject areas: abortion and contraception; gender-based violence; growing older; heart health; menarche to menopause; mental health; pregnancy and childbirth; and sexuality.

Job Description

The Social Media Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing OBOS Todays social media strategy to drive the OBOS Today platform forward and reach broader audiences in wider communities. In this part-time position you will:

    Create and implement a specific social media strategy across platforms in preparation for our Spring 2022 launch Continue to promote and grow our social media presence after launch Enhance the sense of community among OBOS Todays users and followers Manage posting and monitoring of social media feeds, including responding and engaging with followers in real time Conceptualize and create engaging content on our social media platforms including (but not limited to) graphic design and image creation, scriptwriting, caption writing, and videography
Qualifications

    Demonstrated experience in social media marketing Strong writing, digital production, and project management skills Knowledge of web strategies and social media management tools Knowledge of social media audiences and how to interact with different communities online Commitment to reproductive justice and feminist approach to healthcare and sexuality Proficiency in reproductive justice communications, including inclusive language Working knowledge of at least one graphic design platform
Location

Applicants are welcome to work remotely, although working in person in the Boston office is also possible. Regardless of location, hours will be flexible and negotiated.
