Chair of Business Department

 RIT Dubai is seeking to appoint a visionary and dynamic leader to oversee the development and growth of the department of business. The appointee will oversee the delivery of a high-quality curriculum jointly developed with RIT New York and will be leading discussion of curriculum changes and new program offering to ensure that RIT Dubai’s programs maintain a high level of rigor and are aligned to the needs of the industry and the vibrant economy of Dubai, and at the same time comply with the accreditation in place (CAA and AACSB). In addition to teaching business, accounting, marketing and or management courses, the chair will be overseeing scheduling courses, program coordination, faculty development and participate in implementing the strategic goals of RIT Dubai.

The successful candidate will possess high quality interpersonal skills, will work with the institutional effectiveness department, the executive leadership, faculty, and staff in a collegial manner. The successful candidate possesses a good experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses and show a proven record of high-quality recent publications.

Selected candidates possess a record of successful administrative leadership position overseeing the operations of a department within an organization and show evidence of excellent communication skills, ability to maintain a good working relationship with colleagues from both RIT New York and RIT Dubai and to cultivate a positive work environment. The successful candidate must possess outstanding analytical skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to promote teamwork, think and lead strategically.

The chair will also be expected to promote RIT’s programs and assist admissions in reaching their goal in terms of enrollment, student retention and happiness and perform other duties as required, while ensuring RIT’s delivery and development of outstanding educational programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD in business or a closely related field
• A strong record of experience teaching several courses in Business and management
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Business and Management
• A strong record of recent high-quality publications in the area of business.
• Demonstrated success in leading program development and implementation
• Experience in an administrative leadership position preferably at an institution of higher education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural multilingual setting.
