Responsibilities
The data analyst provides support to the Dean's office through the preparation of data reports. This position will use Colleague, Informer and Excel among other tools to create and analyze data sets and present them in accessible formats.

1. Prepares required internal, local, state, and federal reports in a timely, accurate manner using the college administrative software (Colleague) and other resources while communicating with other KSOE personnel to ensure uniformity of required reports.

2. Supports KSOE level data analysis and reporting needs including creating reports in Slate, submission of annual federal and state reports. Develops, maintains, and updates Slate (admissions) and Informer (current students) queries and reports to fulfill recurring data needs for internal and external reporting requirements; Develops, maintains, and updates data reports on a wide range of topics including student demographics, enrollment, persistence and completion; Maintains computerized collections and tracking systems (Excel) of relevant data; Designs and/or develops specific databases (Excel) for collection, tracking, and reporting of data; Uses those databases to analyze, interpret, and summarize data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports in a timely manner.

3. Evaluate data for structural integrity and consistency. Identifies trends/anomalies in the data collected to understand the source of data inaccuracies.

4. Provide communication connection between other SMC departments including Institutional Research and KSOE to fulfill data requests for accreditation, grant funding.
