Description
Description: The Business Analyst is responsible for functioning as a liaison with Carroll University's constituents to integrate business requirements, best practices and relevant technologies to improve University processes and contribute ideas, solutions, and energy to a high-performing, motivated team. Position requires technical versatility and creativity to support and enhance applications that serve the University community. This role will leverage strong technical abilities and excellent communication skills. This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with end-users to evaluate business processes, assess needs, identify key challenges, and define user requirements, project scope, and deliverables.
  • Actively work to improve processes that leverage technology to be more efficient, accurate, and customer oriented.
  • Gather business requirements and translate customer needs regarding their departmental systems, troubleshoot end-user problems and issues, and communicate solutions.
  • Work closely with application developers to determine if solutions currently exist or whether new solutions are feasible.
  • Provide innovative, efficient solutions for solving internal and external system issues, problems and enhancements.
  • Provide reports, data extracts, and information from enterprise systems.
  • Create and maintain thorough system, process, and end-user documentation.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3 years' experience in applications support, preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and interaction among multiple systems required.
  • Experience in analyzing business and user requirements.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with report writing and business analytics applications desired.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Dynamics 360 strongly desired.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of mobile and cloud technology.
  • Knowledge with how to interface between disparate systems.
  • Experience with relational databases, including database design, queries; Experience with MS SQL preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new technical skills.
  • Ability to estimate time requirements for tasks and to deliver results as scheduled.

Human Relations Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with a diverse group of colleagues and end users.
