The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment office is responsible for the leadership and management of the offices of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid. The Enrollment division works closely with the academic deans, multiple campus stakeholders, and off-campus coordinators to plan and coordinate enrollment strategies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.   Additionally, the Enrollment department works to meet recruitment and retention goals and objectives in support of the University’s mission and long-term strategic objectives.
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment reports to the Chancellor of the University but is not a cabinet-level position. Other positions reporting to the Chancellor include Cabinet members: Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration; Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs; Vice Chancellor for Advancement; General Counsel; Chief of Staff; and the Director of Athletics. Non- cabinet level direct reports to the Chancellor include: Executive Director of Communications and Marketing; Chief Audit Officer; Director, Title IX and Clery Act Compliance;; and an Executive Assistant to the Chancellor.

Positions reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment are: Director of Admissions; Director of Financial Aid; a Business Services Coordinator. The total number of employees in the department is approximately 25.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment position is responsible and accountable for the strategic management of recruitment and enrollment initiatives to support the University’s mission and strategic objectives. Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

• Work in collaboration with the Chancellor, Provost, academic deans, Office of Institutional
Research, and other campus officials to establish domestic and international recruitment and retention targets for the University.
• Guide institution-wide conversations and plans that encompass organizational structure, policy, process, and faculty and staff roles as they relate to recruitment and retention.
• Provide vision, comprehensive leadership, effective planning, program development, budget oversight, data analysis, and institutional coordination to achieve and exceed enrollment and retention objectives.
• Serve as the public face of recruitment and retention initiatives on campus with faculty, staff, and students, and off-campus with stakeholder groups and members of the community.
• Lead, motivate, manage, and develop departmental employees in the pursuit of enrollment and retention objectives.
• Provide support, guidance, and assistance in the recruitment of undergraduate, graduate and international students.
• Interact with students and parents as appropriate in support of institutional polices and initiatives.

COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with experience and includes competitive base salary and benefits.

This position is designated as Mandatory Personnel:  Mandatory Employees: Employees whose presence has been determined to be mandatory to University operations during certain types of adverse weather or emergency events.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

• Master’s preferred + five (5) years experience required; 
• Record of success in developing and implementing modern and proactive enrollment strategies.  
• Understanding of faculty and staff roles in the recruitment, registration, advising, student success, and retention processes.
• Technical skills and understanding of related enrollment and communication software.
•Significant work experience in higher education and experience working in a shared governance system.
• Understanding of both college and school and faculty &staff roles involvement in the recruitment and enrollment process.
 • Knowledge of current issues in recruitment and retention; entrepreneurial with a willingness to take calculated risks, to innovate, to take advantage of opportunities, and to lead change.
• Proven skills in relationship building, as well as a strong commitment to and understanding of the dynamics of a multi-ethnic, diverse institution.
• Decision making, problem solving and collaboration skills with a wide spectrum of university constituents.
• Leadership and management skills; ability to motivate and mentor staff.
• Excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills; capacity to establish effective working relationships, particularly at the peer level and with faculty and deans.
• Analytical ability and familiarity with technology used to organize and present data necessary for effective decision making.
• Financial acumen; ability to manage budgets and invest resources wisely.
• Active participation in related professional associations.
