Student Support Program Manager (Temporary, Grant-Funded)

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Student Support Program Manager position.   This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the grant funded ACT 101 and POWER program(s) and services relevant to first year and continuing students’ retention and progression to graduation as related to transition programming, financial counseling, tutoring, and developmental activities; monitors and tracks progress of students through direct case load management; maintains communication with faculty and staff in support of students. The Manager will support/manage/lead new and existing program collaborations. Direct staff oversight of the ACT 101/POWER teams.

 

*This is a temporary grant paid position and is contingent upon grant funding.

*This position has College wide responsibilities and will be required to travel to off-site locations. Must be available to work day, evening and weekend hours.

 

Essential Knowledge & Skills

Education/Training/Work Experience

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education, Psychology or other related field.
  • At least three years of related work experience and at least two years of Supervisory experience required
  • Grants management experience required.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with individuals from varying educational, social, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of retention and persistence of at-risk students and providing at-risk learner support.
  • Proven technology skills, including using technology in program delivery.
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy
  • Experience working with diverse populations and populations of individuals at risk of not being successful.
