Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday typically 8am-4:30pm, however may work varied hours to provide support and training to departments and staff that have alternative hours of operation.

Location: This position will primarily work on campus, however, may occasionally work remotely based on department needs and district protocols.

Salary Schedule/Level:
SALARY RANGE: Up to $95,000/yr based upon experience

Basic Function:
Under direction of the Vice President, Special Assistant to the President and in collaboration with the COVID-19 Return to Work and Campus Emergency Response Team, perform duties in the coordination, facilitation and enforcement of the District's COVID-19 protocols and objectives across the entire campus community. This position requires physical presence on-campus and does not have any direct reports. This recruitment will remain open until filled; there are currently 2 positions available, the first application review will take place on October 8.

Distinguishing Characteristics:
Respond and review online health assessment questionnaire responses (Healthy Roster), assist in contact tracing, contact individuals with positive questionnaire responses and coordinate necessary quarantine requirements, provide pertinent information about individuals with positive COVID-19 exposure to designated campus officials and managers.

Oversee and coordinate campus-wide COVID response team/committee.

Monitors and documents the effectiveness of COVID protocol measures.

Analyze and recommend improvements for safe work practices, policies and training programs.

Provide updates during various meetings such as management, board of trustees or any other ad hoc meetings.

Communicates and enforces site policies and procedures regarding COVID-19 and safety.

Create a “hotline” for calls and emails when students and staff have questions and concerns. Respond to questions with consultation from the response team.

Coordinates and works closely with Campus Security to identify and correct any unsafe practices such as improper social distancing and failure to wear PPE, etc.

Creates training materials; conducts training; distributes and interprets COVID-19 training materials and safety policies for all individuals onsite (faculty, staff, students, visitors, vendors, events, civic center rental, etc.)

Assist maintaining current information on the college’s COVID information web page.

Interfaces and provides COVID-19 operational support to instructional, student services and operational divisions and departments.

Keeps abreast of latest directives and trends as promulgated by the CDC, State Public Health and Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health. Serve as college liaison to Santa Barbara County Public Health Department.

Conducts assessment of various areas, including, but not limited to, work areas, classrooms, offices, conference rooms, lobbies, study halls, lockers, athletic facilities, etc. pertaining to COVID-19 unsafe conditions; assists in creation of mitigation measures.

Conducts research on latest virus testing protocols, screening practices and student/staff/faculty/visitors access and entry/exit flow to buildings and spaces, and provides appropriate recommendations.;

Consults with Risk Management, Health & Safety, Student Health Services, management, and other stakeholders regarding COVID-19 and safety issues

Ensures signage (social distancing, PPE, handwashing) are appropriately displayed throughout campus (offices, dining areas, entrances, public spaces)

Ensures that plans for staff and student movement, safety, and social distancing are implemented according to minimum standards

Reports COVID-19 and related flu-like illness or concerns to county health officials as required.

Creates checklists/forms for use by campus personnel; serve as centralized records repository of all documentation and reports pertaining to COVID-19; maintain procedures manual

Coordinates communication as directed regarding campus wide notifications on COVID-19 cases

Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of Community College Students.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Basic knowledge of safety and health standards and regulations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Desire to continue development of technical skills and industry knowledge
Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

Education & Paid Experience:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Health Science, Public Health, Life Sciences or closely related field and 3 years related experience; availability to work after regular business hours and weekends required.

Medic / RN / EMT Experience
OSHA Health & Safety Experience
Master’s degree in related field
CPR/First Aid Certification
