Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for clinical and translational research related to immunologic or rheumatologic diseases, providing patient care, and teaching to a variety of learners. The majority of the position will be devoted to the development/maintenance of an independent research program. Protected time will be provided with an expectation that the candidate will either come with extramural funding or procure it within the first 3 years of employment.

Responsibilities:

- The majority of the position will be devoted to the development/maintenance of an independent research program. Protected time will be provided with an expectation that the candidate will either come with extramural funding or procure it within the first 3 years of employment.
- Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents and fellows.
- Provide patient clinical care.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
M.D, D.O, or equivalent

Qualifications:

Completion of US pediatric residency and pediatric rheumatology fellowship programs. Interest in translational research and academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential. Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.

License/Certification:

Additional Information:

Candidates for Assistant or Associate Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
