Position Purpose

The Associate Director will support the goals and mission of Alumni Relations and the College by successfully maintaining and expanding existing career focused platforms, programming, and content directed towards our diverse alumni body. The role includes substantial collaboration across Alumni Relations on joint programming and content for key audiences. Building on the progress made during the pandemic, he/she/they will play a key strategic role in the future growth of digital and self-serve programming that better connect alumni with each other.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

* Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
* Four years of relevant experience in event, program delivery and management, and/or career service field.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated creative planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated technical literacy with aptitude for learning new systems; ability to manipulate and analyze data.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and be flexible.
* Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with marketing and creative problem-solving.
* Ability to be perceptive and responsive to direction set forth from leadership.
* Ability to apply strategic planning principals and employee management.
* Ability to motivate, support, and work effectively with alumni, students, volunteers, groups and individuals.
* Ability to demonstrate empathy.
* Demonstrated ability to be proactive with ability to organize own work, coordinate projects with others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Familiarity and/or direct experience with Alumni Relations profession or higher education desirable.

* In partnership with the Director, leads the implementation and growth of Dartmouth Connect, Dartmouth’s online platform for alumni career support, job opportunities, and mentorship.

Description

* Develops strategic communication plans and marketing initiatives for programs and events; oversees their implementation in collaboration with Dartmouth for Life colleagues, the Dartmouth Advancement Communications team, and external vendors.

Description

* Works collaboratively to manage teams and projects that may include other staff members from across Advancement, Alumni Relations, student workers, and alumni volunteers.

Description

* Evaluates alumni participation and demographic information to produce metrics to determine success and effectiveness of programs and services. Measures and tracks other content and programming on campus that may add value to alumni. Conducts research to assess best practices of content execution and delivery at peer institutions and other non-profits. Working closely with the Director, provides management support to the team and participates in the development and execution of operating plans, budget management, evaluation of services, and streamlines operations by effectively using existing and new technologies.
