Job Summary
Medical Services invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician! This position is responsible for the data entry, filling, and billing of prescriptions at the pharmacy along with sterile compounding preparations with a pharmacist final check. In addition, this assignment includes working with various pharmacy benefit managers (insurance claims) to ensure accurate billing along with reimbursement.
The technician also will work directly with patients and provide outstanding customer service. The pharmacy technician provides support to the pharmacists as needed, along with assistance in training and working with pharmacy students.

The Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including: primary care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic conditions, physicals, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Prescription Filling
- Use pharmacy software system to enter data, bill prescriptions, and fill prescriptions efficiently and accurately, providing direct patient contact along with exceptional customer service.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws including having all prescriptions checked by a licensed pharmacist and perform opening and end-of-day duties.
- Connect with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to resolve claim issues and accurately bill and adjudicate pharmacy claims in a timely manner.
- Use pharmaceutical wholesaler order system to purchase medications for the pharmacy and track the cost of purchases to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Supervise the par levels (minimums and maximums) of retail items to maintain adequate supplies and maintain accurate inventory records of prescription drugs.
This position is anticipated to work on-campus full-time.

What We Can Offer
The salary range is $18-20 per hour for 0-2 years of related experience and $21-22 per hour for 2+ years of relevant experience.

- Current, valid certification or provisional certification as a Pharmacy Technician from the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.
