Vice-President of Finance & Administration

 

Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and is one of the Commonwealth’s twenty-three comprehensive community colleges.  BRCC has served the counties of Augusta, Highland, and Rockingham; and the Cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton and Waynesboro for over 50 years.  BRCC has been recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education as a “Great College to Work For” and one of the top 2-year institutions in the nation, for 11 of the past 12 years. BRCC enrolls over 5,000 students in credit courses (approximately 3,000 full-time equivalent) and over 3,000 students in non-credit courses.

 

Responsibilities: The VPFA will provide leadership and management for all aspects of finance and administrative services.  Position is responsible for strategic and operational planning, as well as the day-to-day management of the finances of the college; with administrative oversight for the College’s Financial and Administrative Services, Student Financial Aid, Capital Outlay, Physical Plant Facilities, Procurement, Campus Police, Student Recreation and Fitness Center, and Contractual Services. 

 

Position serves as primary financial and administrative services advisor to the President; and manages the College’s budgeting and fiscal operations.  Serves as Board Member and Treasurer of the BRCC Educational Foundation; will participate in community activities that serve the interests of the College and the personal and professional interests of the individual; and will engage in professional activities which will lead to professional development and the enhancement of services to the institution. 

 

Special Assignments           

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

 

KSA's/Required Qualifications         

Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; Substantial experience in a senior level financial management or administrative position; Substantial experience in administration and supervision.

 

Preferred Qualifications   

Demonstrated collaborative leadership style characterized by excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal relations; Experience and demonstrated success in strategic and operational planning, team building, and budgeting; Experience in a Higher Education setting, and a commitment to the community college mission and philosophy; and to continuous improvement.  Need ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects; Prefer experience managing physical plant design, construction, operation, and maintenance.

Additional Information     

Anticipated Starting Salary Range, $106,993 – $134,532 based on qualifications and experience; Full-Time, 12-Month Administrative Faculty position, with full State/VCCS Benefits Package.
