Purpose of Position
Reporting to the CIO, this position is responsible for the strategic implementation of campus network, servers, database, and other technology systems and services. A large focus of this position is forward looking with strategic planning and roadmaps for our technology infrastructure. Directs staff in regard to integration of various systems infrastructure and system architecture. Responsible for management of various system-wide functions across system applications (e.g. system administration of software and services, system security, disaster recovery, installation of patches/upgrades, system databases, web integration, data storage and warehousing feeds, etc.). This position will assist in the identification and prioritization of solutions that meet the strategic needs of the department and the university. This position also directs the budget and financial activities related to the Infrastructure area. Primary Responsibilities
Focuses on NKU’s strategic planning and roadmaps for key infrastructure components including both on premise and off premise (cloud strategy) solutions. 25%

Directs staff in the implementation, operation and support of the campus technology infrastructure to ensure system security and reliability; ensures effective monitoring of release of patches, updates, and upgrades of current application and installation/testing plans. 20%

Collaborates with other IT leaders to blend together infrastructure strategies/roadmaps to meet business needs across all areas of the university. This provides an overall strategic plan for IT. 20%

Develop short and long term solutions to meet the strategic needs of the department and university. 15%

Directs lead staff to develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures across all platforms. 10%

Direct the budget and financial activities related to the infrastructure area. 10% Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree. No specific major is required but one in management, business, human relations, or a technology field would be preferred. Requires demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure components and previous experience managing teams in the infrastructure area.
