Job Description: The Laboratory / Research Technician will be responsible for any and all assigned basic lab functions and duties such as lab inventory maintenance; as well as conducting lab techniques and experiments such as preparation of media, processing cell cultures, running PCR tests, and carefully recording and assisting in the analysis of data and results. Duties may encompass both human subject and animal research.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a Biomedical Science; Ability to work in diverse and demanding environment; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Experience in a scientific laboratory and working in accordance with the scientific method; Willingness and ability to learn new experimental techniques with proper training and supervision by Supervisor / Investigator and then being able to carry out these experiments increasingly independently, satisfactorily and in a timely manner; Ability to think on their own and detect potential problems during the course of experiments so that they can discuss and troubleshoot with Supervisor / Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications: 1 to 2 years previous experience working in a scientific research laboratory;
Experience handling small research animals; Experience handling human tissue samples.
