Job Description:

A postdoctoral researcher position focused on applying artificial intelligence/machine learning to identifying biomarkers of disease progression in type 1 diabetes is available in the laboratory of Dr. Sarah Kim ( https://pharmacy.ufl.edu/profile/kim-sarah/ ), in collaboration with Dr. Martha L. Campbell-Thompson ( https://mctlab.pathology.ufl.edu/ ) and Dr. Damon G. Lamb ( https://psychiatry.ufl.edu/profile/lamb-damon/ ). This position is for an initial two-year appointment, and has the potential to be renewed for an additional year based on performance and funding availability.

The postdoctoral research will work on a funded project designed to build deep-learning imaging analysis and informatics tools to improve understanding of type 1 diabetes progression. Research will involve design, implementation, and validation of image analysis pipeline to build deep learning models and graphical user interfaces using pancreas whole slide image (WSI) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related biomedical/computational science area with appropriate experience..

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants must have experience with manuscript preparation and submission.

Experience with Python, MONAI/Pytorch, MATLAB, and R is particularly desirable.
