Job Description
Founded in 1967, Blue Ridge Community College has served the
residents of the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for over 50
years. Its comprehensive program of instruction includes associate
degrees, diplomas, and certificates in occupational/technical and
college/university transfer programs. The College also provides
non-credit workforce training and special interest classes for
individuals, business, and industry.
Position will include teaching (traditional classroom, hybrid,
HyFlex, and/or online delivery) with a focus on strong pedagogical
approach and quality student learning assessment.
Participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline are expectations of this position.
Faculty will also participate in scholarly engagement and professional development activities and community service to both the BRCC campus and the local service region.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education or a related field from a regionally accredited university.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and a proven track record of working collaboratively.
Commitment to applications of instructional technology and an enthusiasm for the community college mission and environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Community college or university teaching experience.
Course work in research and assessment methods.
Familiarity with shared governance.
