The laboratory of Dr. Susan C. Baker in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Loyola University Chicago has an opening for a full-time postdoc with interests in coronavirus replication and host-pathogen interactions. The individual filling this new position will assist in federally funded research projects investigating the mechanisms used by coronaviruses to suppress, delay, and antagonize the host innate immune response to virus replication. Our primary focus is to identify the molecular mechanisms used by coronaviruses to circumvent host innate immune responses and to translate that knowledge to develop novel approaches to control virus replication and pathogenesis. We collaborate with structural biologists and virologists studying the replication and pathogenesis of SARS -CoV-2.
