The University of Southern Maine’s Honors Program invites applications for a full-time lecturer position with expertise in composition/writing studies, to begin in the Fall 2022 Academic Year. Duties will include a 4/4 teaching load consisting of courses in Honors College Writing, Academic Writing, Advanced Writing, and Honors Capstone.

The Honors Program at the University of Southern Maine is a learning community designed for highly motivated students. In Honors, students are encouraged to tap into their intellectual curiosity and creativity while exploring rich topics from multiple perspectives. Honors students interact closely with peers in seminar-style courses and receive individualized attention from exceptional faculty. We offer a comprehensive interdisciplinary academic Minor, as well as scholarship-funded opportunities to study abroad, academic internships, independent research opportunities, etc.

This position will serve both our Portland and Gorham Campus and will pay annual salary of $50,000. This is an on campus, in-person teaching position.

Qualifications:
  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA) or equivalent terminal degree.
  • Composition or related teaching experience.
