Job Description Summary
Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as a Director of International Student Services and Engagement .
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Director of International Student Services and Engagement supports international students, both undergraduate and graduate, from the point of acceptance through all phases of the visa process and participates in the development of policies, procedures, and promotional materials as they relate to international student recruitment and immigration
The Director of International Student Services and Engagement supports the University’s current and incoming F-1 international students’ legal ability to remain in the United States through maintaining SEVIS records, providing counsel regarding the rules and regulations of F-1 status, and remaining abreast of changes to immigration rules, regulation & practice. The Director supports international students’ academic engagement, social integration and cross-cultural development through regular programming and collaboration with the variety of offices on campus. The Director regularly reviews F-1 student retention and success data to implement relevant support tailored to the unique cultural needs of both undergraduate and graduate students on F-1 visas and provides support to and communicates directly with faculty program directors.
The Director will possess heightened interpersonal and customer service skills. The Director must have a passion to deliver a high level of service to the students as well as understand the academic, social, cultural, and emotional needs in the student life cycle.

Minimum Work Experience Required
A minimum of 8 years of prior experience working with international students, along with demonstrated knowledge of the student visa processes, federal regulations and compliance related to international students.
Preferred Work Experience
At least 7 Years as a DSO or PDSO, with at least 2 of those years as a PDSO.
Minimum Knowledge Required
Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
Preferred Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications
· Demonstrated experience in managing an international student office in higher education or related international field.
· Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and quantitative abilities with a strong track record of teamwork and collaboration skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
· Experience working successfully with non-native English speakers
· Experience coordinating international student support services or leading customer experience programs
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Experience using computer software programs such as: SEVIS, BANNER /PeopleSoft, ISSM /Terra Dotta/Sunapsis, and or/other immigration, student information system, or customer relationship management software.
· U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident as required by federal regulations.

· Demonstrated exceptional leadership, flexibility, interpersonal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
· Demonstrated experience in strategic planning.
· Active member of the National Association of International Educators ( NAFSA ) or similar organizations focused on international students.
· Prior supervisory experience.
· Bilingual in English and another language
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to attract and develop a team and foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
· Demonstrated understanding of internationalization within diversity, equity and inclusion.
