Job Description Summary
Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as a Technical Support Specialist.
Reporting to the Manager of User Services, Digital Technology Services, the Technical Support Specialist will play an important role in providing help desk support to students, staff, and faculty.
The position will also give general assistance with classroom technology, conferencing, and lecture capturing technologies. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. The position will provide students, faculty, and staff with the support necessary to use technology efficiently as well as provide superior customer service in person, through written communication, and on the phone. The Technical Support Specialist should be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things technology and customer service.

Advertised Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have experience providing technical support for Windows laptop or desktop computers in a help desk environment. The most successful candidates will also have the following:
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience creating their own projects and completing them on time
• Ability to work with a variety of users and expertise promoting a customer service-oriented attitude
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and part of a team with proven multi- tasking experience
Advertised Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Knowledge of both OS X and Windows
• Technical certifications such as A+, CCNA, or ITIL
• Experience using and deploying virtual desktops/environments
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with various individuals and groups in an operational and project setting
• Experience collaborating with departments and promoting technologies and services
