Ranked in the top 25 in the UK, we are proud to be one of the country’s leading research-intensive institutions. We are consistently rated first for student satisfaction among the University of London institutions. Through the dedication of our teachers, discoveries that change the world, and the distinctive feel of the Royal Holloway experience, we have built a diverse and supportive community that inspires students and staff to succeed.  We foster academic excellence and social values, encouraging everyone to give of their best.

Our current Principal, Professor Paul Layzell, has indicated his intention to stand down after 12 successful years in post. We are, therefore, seeking to appoint an exceptional, innovative and highly visionary leader to build on the College’s many achievements, enhancing our position at a time of significant transformation in higher education in the UK and around the world.

We are very ambitious and fully committed to a programme of sustained growth and expansion. We are seeking an astute strategist with strong leadership skills and proven ability to deliver transformation. The successful candidate will have the experience, ambassadorial qualities and track record of delivery to drive forward our exciting new three-year strategic plan, including building new international partnerships, scoping potential mergers, developing more strength in challenge-led research, and better serving the expanding London population.

This is a truly unique opportunity to lead a world-class institution, dynamically exploring new possibilities to increase our size, reach and reputation regionally, nationally and globally. If you have the right experience, skills and track record of success and share our passion and ambition, we would be delighted to hear from you.
