Job Summary:
Provides organizational support for the Master of Science in Community Engaged Medicine (MS-CEM) and other education program initiatives of the Institute for the Advancement of Community Health (IACH), including degree and non-degree programs. Coordinates information (data, reporting, events, schedules) across Furman departments that contribute to the MS-CEM program as well as engages with prospective, incoming, current students and program alumni on behalf of the IACH.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates processes for the MS-CEM program, both in preparation for and execution of expansion of the program to two asynchronous cohorts of students. Processes include most facets of the program from marketing and recruitment, through enrollment and programming support, and graduation planning and alumni engagement.
2. Provides operational support for the Education division of the IACH, including coordination with academic departments and Graduate Studies for program administration and processes, such as reimbursements for costs associated with experiential learning for students, disbursement and receipt of surveys to evaluate experiential learning (surveys of both students and partners).
3. Assists the Director of Education Programs with maintenance of relationships with campus and community partners to strengthen, support and advocate on behalf of undergraduate and graduate educational programs. Examples of such include campus services for students (Counseling and Health centers, Dining services, writing services, advising and career services) as well as other academic institutions that are frequently a source of prospective students or are an aim as a next step for current students and alumni (i.e. medical schools)
4. Collaborates with Graduate Studies on receipt, screening and processing of applications for the IACH graduate programs and coordinates activities of the admissions committee.
5. Communicates with incoming and current students about enrollment and financial aid processes as well as registration and other services. Additionally, tracks graduate program alumni information.
6. Maintains databases of student and program information, including work in Slate admissions software to support the admissions process as well as to run data reports.
7. Contributes to marketing and recruitment efforts for IACH graduate programs by engaging with prospective students inquiries and tracking prospective student and applicant information.
8. Assists Director of Education, in conjunction with the Executive Director, to manage budget information for the MS-CEM and other graduate programs that the IACH may develop.
9. Provides support and coordination to IACH education external communications strategy, including reports, presentations and publications of outcomes to the university, external partners, and funders as well as presentations to potential partners, community groups, individuals and state/national groups.
10. Assists in the development and execution of grants and assures collection of appropriate records to support grant funding and reporting.
11. Supports operations and event planning as a member of the Education division in the IACH, including scheduling support for meetings as well as coordination
12. Works with Marketing & Communications Coordinator to maintain website content for IACH Education Programs, including the graduate program, and develop other communications content.
13. Completes performance review process with supervisor to understand job performance and expectations and how they fit into the institute and university goals; Follows safety procedures.

Tasks involve interpretation of data and/or procedures to address problems or situations that are not clearly defined. Work involves non-routine/diverse work not defined by procedures.

Tasks often involve multiple procedures with interrelated processes and steps before rendering final decisions. Work includes decisions regarding programs and allocation of resources.

Spends time planning, scheduling, and assigning priorities of several ongoing assignments.

Reports To: Director of Education, Institute for the Advancement of Community Health

Work is performed independently except where the interpretation of law, policy, rule, complex procedure or request for exception is required.

Education/Skill Requirements:

Bachelors Degree required.
