The Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position in Finance, at the associate or full professor level for the Holmes Professorship in Management (Finance) beginning in August 2022. The position is a chaired professorship to be filled by an outstanding candidate with an established record of research, a commitment to continued scholarship, and a demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching to a diverse student body. The position requires a Ph.D., or equivalent degree in a field appropriate for teaching finance. A successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation of Bucknell's liberal arts tradition and be willing to teach introductory and upper-level courses in the department's finance major. Bucknell's AACSB accredited Freeman College of Management values both traditional scholarship and creative scholarship that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries.

The approximately 700 undergraduate students in the AACSB-accredited Freeman College of Management may choose among seven highly interdisciplinary majors that combine courses in the various fields of management with offerings in the arts, humanities, natural and social sciences, and engineering. Our innovative curriculum and world-class teacher-scholars earned the Freeman College the #35 ranking in the 2021 Poets & Quants' annual national survey of undergraduate business programs. We believe that an undergraduate education that combines technical skills and deep intellectual exploration is the best preparation for thoughtful and capable leaders. New faculty members must be capable of contributing to this mission through progressive teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a field appropriate for teaching finance and related subjects in the Freeman College of Management.
  • Candidates must have compiled a sustained record of teaching excellence.
  • Candidates must demonstrate superior scholarly competency, a record of productivity commensurate with a senior-level appointment, and the promise of ongoing productivity.
