Job Description
Associate Director, Master of Information Technology (MIT) Program, PCoB
Reporting to Executive Director of MIT Program, the Associate Director will assist in the overall day-to-day operations of the Virginia Tech online Master of Information Technology (MIT) Program. This position also performs other duties as assigned. || Core Responsibilities: | Work closely with the executive director, director of marketing and associate director of marketing and advertising in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract, admit, and yield high quality, diverse student body by researching and identifying potential target markets, meet program enrollment goals; | Provide support to develop MIT alumni and enrollment databases; | Run reports, design surveys, update and monitor data in systems, and analyze results to spot trends and identify improvement opportunities; | Develop and implement a corporate relations strategy to identify opportunities for partnerships and recruiting;|provide support for program’s brand development, digital and print communication, advertising, social media, corporate relations, sponsorships, network, and outreach;|Represent the MIT Program at recruiting events, information sessions, educational fairs, career fairs, community and other business related events; | Provide support for aspects of the creation, development, design, editing, updating, and assessment of all correspondence and marketing initiatives including MIT website; | Develop and employ relevant analysis and metrics across the spectrum of recruitment and enrollment activities to measure effectiveness and advance continuous improvements. Manage the day-to-day operations related to the MIT program office, staff, faculty, courses, and student admissions and registrations; | Responsible for the successful delivery of admissions activities, event planning;|Follow up with the prospective students by phone, email, and letter; | Manage ongoing one-on-one contact with prospective students via in person interactions, and phone and email correspondence to respond to program inquiries and provide support throughout the application process; | Supervise MIT staffing by overseeing advising of students on plans of study, MIT program courses; | Manage graduation clearances; | Monitor MIT curriculum enrollment activities and work with faculty and departments to deliver the recommended set of courses each term; work with MIT faculty to ensure high quality course delivery using CANVAS and Zoom, assist in onboarding MIT faculty and in recruiting MIT distance learning instructors (DLI), manage course enrollment activities, respond and resolve student questions on policies and procedures, courses and faculty | Develop and implement an alumni outreach strategy, to include digital and print communication, social media, and networking opportunities; | Contribute to the establishment and implementation of short and long range goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness, and recommend changes required for improvements; | All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's in information technology or in a related field | Demonstrated effectiveness in administration and leadership of online graduate information technology programs at the departmental and/or college level | Student recruitment, training, marketing, and enrollment management | Experience in working with graduate programs, faculty, staff and graduate students | Extensive experience and knowledge of Outreach initiatives | Ability to effectively utilize spreadsheets, databases, student sourcing software, word processing and presentation software to manipulate and summarize data | Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills | Ability to advise and mentor graduate students | Strong organizational skills
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with educational training programs at the national and international levels | Experience working with professional students | Extensive experience working with corporations, government agencies, and HR divisions to recruit students
