Wellstar College of Health and Human Services

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, tenured full professor and Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing in the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services beginning July 1, 2022. The Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing will also serve as the Thomas M. and Elizabeth D. Holder Endowed Chair.  The application deadline has been extended.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Area of specialization: Nursing
  • Administrative expectations: Director of all aspects of the Wellstar School of Nursing (WSON), which is on track to become one of the largest nursing programs in the country
  • Promoting the vision and mission of the college and university
  • Service beyond the WSON to the college and university
  • Strategic oversight of WSON budgets, resource allocations, and budget planning
  • Support and promotion of faculty scholarship and research and teaching effectiveness
  • Support and promotion of staff development
  • Facilitation of ongoing CCNE accreditation
  • Program development, with consideration of job markets and the dynamic healthcare environment
  • Strategic oversight of hiring and growth
  • Working with a diverse community
  • Building philanthropic relationships and partnerships
  • Building relationships with both community and clinical partners

Required Qualifications Include:

  • An earned research-focused doctoral degree in Nursing, or the foreign equivalent, or related field, with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a tenured professor in an academic department at KSU is required.
  • Eligibility for a Georgia Nursing License
  • Experience in administration

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Demonstrated transformational and visionary leadership, with experience leading through growth and transition
  • Experience in higher education administration including leadership of personnel, budgeting, procurement, inventory, and facility management
  • Experience with graduate education in Nursing
  • Ability to inspire and develop faculty and staff
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills for communication, transparency, and collaboration
  • Fostering effective relationships within and beyond college and university
  • Evidence of research/scholarship
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Experience working within a culturally and ethnically diverse community
  • Prior success in obtaining extramural funding
  • Experience in clinical practice
