The Director of Marketing will oversee the university’s external and internal marketing and brand strategy, through messaging, design, web content and optimization, advertising, CRM communications, and projects. The Director will supervise marketing personnel and oversee the departmental budget; develop and execute the marketing and advertising strategy for the university, and for other departments as needed; and oversee the organization and execution of all brand collateral, including print and digital publications; social media; website content and navigation; external marquis; internal monitor screens; and design of university signage, both temporary and permanent.

Essential Responsibilities:

25% Supervise team of marketing professionals, including writers, social media managers, graphic designers, web content managers, and freelancers.
Responsible for hiring, training, workloads, schedules, and deadlines.

20% In consultation with Vice President of Advancement, Marketing, and Communications, develop and direct Strategic Marketing Plans for undergraduate, graduate, and international enrollment, as well as other departments with diverse and alternate revenue streams by request, such as the Family Development Center, Supply Chain Innovation Center and Business Incubator, and other potential revenue-generating departments.

20% Create and monitor digital marketing on platforms including Google, Facebook, and landing page software. Monitor and report budget and analytics.

10% Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budget and planning, including contracts for advertising, technology, freelance contractors, and other purchasing needs. Presents budget to Planning and Budgetary Advisory Council.

10% Oversees and directs large scale/ high visibility collateral, including the university website content, social media management, and all branded collateral. Ensures departments across university adhere to Brand Guidelines.

10% Consult and contribute to high-level university projects and initiatives, such as in preparations for visiting accreditor review bodies, developing academic program launch marketing strategies,

5% Create paid advertising plan based on Strategic Enrollment Plan and market research. Negotiate with media partners to guarantee advantageous contracts. Oversee purchase & requisition and billing.

Other Responsibilities:

• Continuously manage and improve upon university brand standards and project management, including intake and completion.
• Respond to urgent or time-sensitive social media messages within/outside of working hours.
• Stays well informed of marketing, web, and social media trends and best practices.
• Communicates promptly and courteously with university personnel.
• Proactive Leader – works well without close supervision and demonstrates initiative.

(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED : COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communication, marketing, public relations, or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of marketing experience in an education, agency, or corporate communications environment where proactive and positive media placements were the primary job responsibility.
• Portfolio of marketing campaigns.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; strong copywriting and copyediting skills.
• Ability to write and organize pieces well, quickly, accurately, strategically, and under pressure.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience and a strong sense of leadership.

Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience. Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in marketing, communications, or English.
• Two (2) years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Five (5) years’ experience in marketing or communications preferably in higher education environment.
• Bi-lingual, preferably Spanish language.
• Google certification.
