Position Purpose

The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth is currently seeking online instructors to teach in our Digital Transformation online certificate program. Our online instructors provide high-quality academic experiences and support students as they work toward their educational goals. Online instructors work collaboratively with the Thayer faculty and staff to ensure that each student has support, tools and resources they need to be successful.

The instructor position at Thayer is a non-ranked, non-tenure track position. In this program, our instructors will: lead live sessions, grade student work, triage student questions and work with Thayer faculty and staff for course improvement.

Instructors will work remotely and should be available to accommodate a teaching schedule that includes a minimum of 2 hours of live instruction and support per week, in addition to asynchronous class support activities and outreach.

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology
  • Two to three years professional experience
  • Knowledge of digital transformation concepts, specifically at least one of the following:
  1. Digital transformation and platforms
  2. Managerial views of data analytics in digital transformation
  3. Cloud tools for predictive and prescriptive analytics (Python required)
  4. Digital product design and development
  • Teaching instincts including excellent presentation, speaking ability, ability to manage/control classroom, ability to foment student interactions, passion for supporting students, educational technology skills, time-management ability, improvisation ability, and preparedness
  • Appropriate work space for online

  • Master’s degree in business or technology preferred, but not required
