Position Purpose

To plan and manage diverse operational activities for The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Practice’s degree granting programs, ensuring positive interactions with prospective and current students, faculty, and alumni.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp

Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple issues in a complex, fast-paced, and deadline-driven work environment.
  • Significant attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage change and adapt to evolving conditions.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate and interact with all levels of employees, management and leadership.
  • Willing to travel and work weekends when necessary.
  • Proficiency in basic data management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint); willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with the Slate platform or other customer relationship management ( CRM ) system
  • Strong marketing skills including proficiency and awareness of social media and value of new technologies.

Description

Recruitment & Admissions
  • Responds appropriately to applicant and admitted students’ questions in order to achieve admissions priorities of increased application submission and greater enrollment.
  • Delivers group presentations, participates in travel at recruitment-related events and activities.
  • Reviews and evaluates applicant files and participates in applicant interviews.
  • Executes admissions and recruiting projects such as drafting recruitment and yield communication and the onboarding of enrolled students.
  • Communicates with students to gather, track, and distribute information to ensure enrollment compliance with various Dartmouth offices.
  • Promotes alumni engagement opportunities in order to increase alumni referrals of prospective students.
  • Develops and provides regular recruitment activity reports. Maintains program records and databases for strategic planning and tracking trends, yield rates and outcomes.

Description

Event Management
  • Plans, coordinates, and oversees large-scale events for hybrid and residential MPH programs, including three, one week-long on-campus sessions, orientation, and class day. Tracks data from events and evaluates for future planning.
  • Independently manages third-party vendors, including vendor identification, contract negotiation, and oversight of vendor activities.
  • Oversees spending for events to ensure alignment with budgeted resources.
  • Coordinates with Conferencing and Events at Dartmouth for on-campus events.

Student Support & Curriculum Innovation
  • Produces reports and surveys in response to Dartmouth College requests and to prepare for CEPH reaccreditation.
  • Develops plans for and coordinates activities that support student social development and emotional wellbeing.
  • Executes projects to improve the student experience.
  • Supports curriculum improvement through management of monthly Curriculum Committee meetings, including ensuring materials prepared and tracking completion of follow-up actions.
