Primary Duties
Working under close supervision of the Director of Student Conduct, Rights, and Responsibilities ( SCRR ), incumbent assists with the assessment of student conduct matters. Assistance includes conducting investigatory meetings, drafting reports, assigning sanctions, and educating students on the campus policies, and procedures. Additional duties include office coordination for SCRR . As the first point of contact in SCRR, incumbent serves as the initial intake coordinator for students responding to discipline charges or seeking to file grade appeals or complaints, and answers inquiries and assists students with all SCRR processes. Incumbent will function in a trainee capacity for approximately six to twelve months. Upon successful completion of the training, the incumbent is expected to be able to perform the duties of the Student Services Processional I, Range B.

Incumbent must possess:
Working knowledge of:
  • Basic principles of individual and group behavior.
  • Research and observation techniques for the purpose of recording, classifying, and interpreting factual information.
  • Techniques and methods of interviewing.
General knowledge in the use of standard office equipment (computers, copiers, phones) and standard office software packages such as, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences and interviews.

Required Education and/or Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Some work will require walk/travel across campus to other offices or building on and off campus.

Eligibility for standard CSU benefits is based on an appointment of half-time or more for a period exceeding six months. Employees appointed less than half-time or less than six months are not eligible for standard CSU benefits but do receive prorated sick leave and vacation.

Eligibility for Affordable Care Act ( ACA ) benefits is based on an appointment of at least three-quarter time, hired to work a minimum of 130 hours per month over the course of the appointment or works an average of 130 hours or more per month during the measurement period.
