About the position : The Jack J. Valenti School of Communication at the University of Houston (UH) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in communication, to begin in Summer 2022, or Fall 2022. The fellow will support the Valenti School’s director’s research, which centers on how women seek information and make decisions about their health using various mediated and interpersonal sources. Tasks will include assisting the director in:
  • Designing research projects, supporting institutional compliance, seeking grants, collecting and analyzing data, and co-authoring reports for peer-review;
  • Measuring effects of a women’s health communication campaign; and
  • Co-leading the interdisciplinary research team.
The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct and publish their own research, with the support of UH’s Division of Research and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences’ research resources.

The initial appointment will be for one year (e.g., Spring 2022-Summer 2023), with the possibility of renewal for a second. Salary will be $50,000 with full benefits.

Qualifications :

Doctoral and No experience

Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.No experience is required.
