The XC Ski Center Operator will assist with all operational needs for the Recreation Services Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Program at Drumlins including but not limited to; oversee student employee’s, manage ski and snowshoe rental / checkout process, maintain and track inventory equipment, assist with student training process, provide group and individual lessons for participants in xc skiing and snowshoe technique. Qualifications
  • -Current CPR / AED and First Aid Training (or willingness to become certified as such)
  • -Experience facilitating or participating in group processing/planning discussions.
  • -Familiarity with group/team development.
  • -Trained on SU Challenge Course Standard and local operating procedures.
  • -Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, to both participants and other staff members.
  • -Ability to relate and work with diverse populations of participants.
Job Specific Qualifications
Two years experience in the area of recreation services management preferred.

Familiarity with cross country ski, snowshoe, and winter sports.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Recreation, Sports Administration, Athletic / Recreation Administration, Physical Education and/or related field. Responsibilities
Assist with planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of a Cross-Country Ski Center including; Cross-country skiing and snowshoe rentals, scheduling and booking groups, ski lessons, trail pass distribution & management, policy enforcement, customer service, keeping trail reports up to date, trail inspections, equipment inventory tracking and maintenance, etc.

Assist with managing and training Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe Center staff on all policies and procedures.

Assist in supervising select special event / evening programs.

Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements
